Carl Elijah Rice of Malvern graduated from this life to Heaven on Sunday, May 30, 2021. He was born on the family farm on Nov. 3, 1934 to Homer and Maude (Saunders) Rice. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Dorothy (Rice) Waters and Margaret (Rice) Snellgrove, and a niece, Kathy (Waters) Jones.


Carl was a lifelong resident of Geneva County, and a member of Malvern Baptist Church, where he was a faithful member and participated in church activities at every opportunity. He assisted with teaching VBS crafts for decades. He enjoyed various hobbies, including woodworking and ceramics as well as collecting chicken themed items, John Deere items, and miniatures – especially bottles or boxes.


Mr. Rice is survived by his niece, Paula (Waters) Link Davenport, as well as several great nieces and nephews, and great-great niece and nephews.


Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 4 at 2 PM at Malvern Baptist Church. The family will receive visitors for one hour prior to the service, and interment will follow immediately after the service in the Malvern Baptist Church cemetery.
