CARL LISENBY, JR.

ABBEVILLE… Carl Lisenby, Jr., a resident of Abbeville, Alabama passed away late Tuesday evening, July 2, 2024, at his home. He was 83.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 5, 2024, in the Hickory Grove Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Sam Cook officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Friday in the church sanctuary prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the Hickory Grove Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 570 Hickory Grove Road, Abbeville, AL. 36310.

Mr. Lisenby was a lifelong resident of Abbeville, son of the late Carl Lisenby, Sr and Alice Wilson Lisenby. Mr. Lisenby was an active member of the Abbeville Lions Club for several years. He was the owner and operator of Lisenby Small Engine Shop in Abbeville for over 40 years. He was a member of the Hickory Grove Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Lisenby is preceded in death by his wife, Alice Blondell Lisenby; his granddaughter, Kasey Smith; his sisters, Joan Holland and Lucy Burkett; and his brother, Billy Lisenby.

Leaving to cherish his memories is his daughter, Linda Kay Lisenby; his son, Jason Lisenby; his sister, Mary Helen Worrell (Donald); his brother, Harmon Lisenby (Darlene); his brothers-in-law, Marvette Holland and Kenneth Burkett;  his grandchildren,  Leigh Tucker (James), Dusty Lindsey, Rachel Cobb (Chris) ,Coleman Norton (Becca) , Brent Lisenby, Garett Lisenby and Gracie Westbrook (Kaleb); his thirteen great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members and friends.

 

Serving as active pallbearers will be James Tucker, Coleman Norton, Garett Lisenby, Harden Cook, Parker Cook, and Chris Cobb.
