Carl R. Rickert II of Enterprise went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday evening, September 24, 2016 after suffering an apparent heart attack. He was 46.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, September 29, 2016 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise with Reverend Matt Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time.
Flowers will be accepted, or donations in Carl’s memory may be made to Boy Scouts of America.
Carl was born June 11, 1970 in Buffalo, New York. He served 20 years in the United States Army before his retirement as a CW3 in the JAG Corps. He was a mason with Jubilee Lodge # 922, an avid hunter, and a Scout Leader with Troop 77. He was a loving husband, father, son, and brother, and he will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Raymond Rickert; and his grandparents: Jean and Joseph Brubaker, and Mary and Wendell “Ray” Rickert.
Survivors include his loving wife, Cindy Harper of Enterprise; daughter, Ashley Renee Rickert of Buffalo, NY; son Aaron Thomas Rickert of Enterprise; mother, Joanne Rickert of Guilderland, NY; brother, Michael Rickert (Kathe) of Clarence Center, NY; sister, Carlene Pacholczak (Walter) of Slingerlands, NY; niece, Anna; nephew, Matthew; parents-in-law, Jack and Billie Harper of Enterprise; uncle, Wayne Brubaker (Sharon) of Appleton, NY; a multitude of close friends.
