Carl W. Hamilton, of Newton, AL, left this earthly plain on Saturday, July 17, 2021. Born on September 1st of 1956, he grew up in Columbus, Georgia where he is a Baker


High School Alumni. After many years working for Shoney’s and later with Schwans, he retired and began working on the many hobbies that he enjoyed. He loved his children, his animals, and any new type of home renovation project with his wife. He was a die-hard Georgia Bulldogs fan and stayed up to date on all goings on with the school’s multiple sports teams.


Carl is preceded in death by his parents, Hampton and Mattie Hamilton, his two brothers, Gene and Charles Rooks, and by his longest friend, David Garrow.


Carl is survived by his wife of 18 years, Cindy Hamilton; his daughter, Nichole East (Thomas “TJ” East) of Abbeville, AL; his sons, Trey Lambert (Nina Lambert), also of Abbeville, Stevie Cole (Ava Cole) of Jacksonville, FL, Joshua Cole (Kim Cole) of Ashford, AL, and Matthew Cole (Christie Cole) of Slocomb, AL; his two sisters, Rita Seagle and Brenda Sponaugle; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.


A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel from 5-7 pm.
