MIDLAND CITY. . .Carlton Graham McKnight, a resident of Midland City, died early Thursday morning, July 21, 2022, at his home. He was 85.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P. M. Saturday, July 23, 2022, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Mike Griggs officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, between Headland & Dothan. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. Saturday at mortuary.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice, 2740 Headland Avenue, Dothan, AL 36303 or to Meals on Wheels, c/o South Dale Senior Citizens Center, 1338 Hinton Waters Avenue, Midland City, AL 36350.
Graham McKnight was born and reared in Midland City, son of the late Collie Graham McKnight and Erma Lee Andrews McKnight. He lived in Montgomery before returning to Midland City where he lived the remainder of his lifetime. Graham was a member of the Midland City Baptist Church. He was retired from CSX Railroad as a Conductor after forty-three years of employment. Graham was an avid Alabama football and Atlanta Braves fan. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Herbst.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Linda Woodham McKnight, a daughter, Melissa McKnight Bryans, Panama City Beach, FL; two sons, Buddy McKnight (Lisa), and Rodney McKnight, all of Midland City; a God child, Meghan McClendon, a sister, Barbara Ann Wells, Midland City; three brothers, Marcine McKnight (Ann), Midland City; Jerry McKnight (Charlotte), Dothan; and Norman McKnight (Priscilla), Pinckard; five grandchildren, Josh McKnight (Jessica), Jaxon Bryans, Sydney Bryans, Keisha Smith and Kayla Herbst; three great-grandchildren, Easton Graham McKnight, Kenzie McKnight and Hudson McKnight, several nieces and nephews.
