Carol Sue Welch Burkett of Darlington, FL passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023. surrounded by her loving family. She was 78 years old.

 

Funeral services will be held on January 8, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Allen Marsh officiating. Burial will follow in the Limestone Community Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday beginning at 12:00 p.m.

 

Carol was born on November 12,1944 in Bartow, Florida to the late Asbury and Lucille Welch. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Billy Eugene Burkett; one son, Ray Burkett; two brothers, Wilbur and Erving Welch; three sisters, Delores Miles, Sandra Maloy and Beulah Smith.

 

She is survived by her two sons, Ricky Burkett (Marie) of Darlington, FL, Elisha Barksdale (Joyce) of New Philadelphia, OH; four daughters, Rita (Larry) Marsh of Samson, AL,  Alexie Goddin (Cody) of Ponce de Leon, FL, Chelsea Burkett (Willie Toles) of Lockhart, AL, and  Kyarra Scott (Jeffery) of Samson, AL; 12 grandchildren, Erica Adams (Jason), Allen Marsh (Andrea), Frank Araneo (Jodi), Brittney Schofield (Jeremy), Nicki Burkett, Kaeydence Nelson, Bryan, Anessa, Jameson  and Amaiyah Scott, Liam Goddin, and Triston Martin (Breanna); several great grandchildren, two brothers, Richard Welch (Mary) and Roy Welch of O’Brien, FL.
