Our mother marched through the Pearly Gates with the same fierce determination she met every day of her 93 years of life. She was still walking a mile a day until a hip fracture slowed her down four months ago, dimming that spark.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Glover Funeral Home with Reverend Danny Dean officiating. Burial will follow at Dothan City Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:00 prior to the service.
Flowers will be accepted.
Carolyn June Dean Lasseter was born on May 1, 1930, in Slocomb, Alabama, to Ethel Wright Dean and John Hubert Dean. She was a country girl who grew up with five siblings working crops in the fields until she became an LPN at Hartford Hospital. Hard work, she would say. She traded that life for being a wife and mother when she married Cecil Tipp Lasseter in 1948.
They raised three children. Tipp, known as Butch, Lisa, and Pete. Her life’s work became caring for her family. Carolyn was married to Tipp for 57 years until he died in 2006. Butch (Betty) passed in 2019, taking a piece of her heart.
She is survived by Lisa Mobley (Mallory Jones III) and Pete Lasseter (Cindy) along with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Carolyn was an interesting person to know. She loved to put her hands in the earth, see birds out her window, and walk her neighborhood every day. She will be sorely missed by those who loved her.
Glover Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Please sign the guestbook online at www.gloverfuneral.com 334-699-3888
