Carolyn Marie (Sewell) McAnulty, age 79, a resident of Cottonwood, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Mt. Enon Baptist Church with Rev. Coley Holloway and Rev. Jerry Hood officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends at Mt. Enon Baptist Church from 1:30 to 2:45, Tuesday, prior to the services. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to The Building Fund, Mt. Enon Baptist Church, 3167 Iris Road, Dothan, AL, 36301.
Marie was born on February 5, 1938 in Houston County Alabama, the daughter of the late Leon and Loraine Sewell. She graduated from Rehobeth High School in 1956 and was employed at Colonial Baking, Supreme Meadow Gold, Cottonwood High School and is currently employed at WRC. Marie enjoyed reading to people and spending time with her family and friends and is a member of Mt. Enon Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband Roy Elton McAnulty.
Survivors include her sons Steve (Lisa) McAnulty of Boone, NC; and Michael (Susan) McAnulty of Dothan; a daughter Jan (Brett) Gerber of Dothan; one brother David (Janice) Sewell of Cottonwood and one sister Anne Dawsey of Cottonwood; a former daughter-in-law Alisa (Greg) Rowland of Cowarts; four grandchildren Olivia McAnulty, Geoffrey McAnulty, Kaitlyn McAnulty, and Mason Shirah; and her best friend Glenda Lewis of Dothan.
Active pallbearers will be Roger Cureton, Stanley Dawsey, Drake Key, Brett Gerber, Mason Shirah and Geoffrey McAnulty. Honorary escort will be the Betty Simpler Sunday School Class and WRC Employees.
