ABBEVILLE, ALABAMA. . .Carolyn Waldroff Whitehurst Nooner, a resident of Abbeville, Alabama, died Saturday afternoon, July 22, 2023, at her home. She was 79.

            Funeral services will be held at 10:00 (CDT) Saturday, July 29, 2023, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Larry Sowell officiating. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 P.M. (EDT) Saturday, July 29, 2023, in Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus, Georgia. The family will receive friends from 9:00 until 10:00 A.M. (CDT) Saturday at the mortuary in Abbeville and also following the graveside services in Columbus.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SouthernCare Hospice, 2576 Montgomery Highway, Suite 2, Dothan, AL 36303.

            Mrs. Nooner was born in Dothan and was reared in Columbus, Georgia, daughter of the late Herman Waldroff and Derlie Bedsole Waldroff. She was a 1963 graduate of Jordan High School and attended Perry Junior College in Columbus where she received an Associates Degree in Accounting. Mrs. Nooner lived in Columbus prior to moving to Hardridge Creek on Lake Eufaula in 1972. She was affiliated with the Fellowship Baptist Church in Eufaula. Mrs. Nooner was retired as Manager of Pizza Hut in Eufaula. In earlier years, she and her late husband, Charles Thomas Whitehurst, owned and operated Superior Television and Appliance in Columbus. Mrs. Nooner was also preceded in death by a former husband, Dave Nooner, and a sister, Mary Ann Kelley.

            Surviving relatives include two nieces, Jennifer Uriostegui (Eddie), and Laura Kelley, all of Plano, Texas; a nephew, Horace Jackson (Tricia), Harrison, GA; great nieces, Daisy and Darcy Uriostegui, great nephews, Robert and Cullen Jackson.
