Casey Alexander Smith, a resident of Taylor, passed away on Friday, November 9, 2018. He was 27.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, November 15, 2018 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 9-11 am.

Casey was born on January 31, 1991 in Houston County and lived in Dothan most of his life. He attended Wicksburg High School and later Wallace Community College where he received his certification as an electrical lineman. Casey was employed with Mastec Utilities. He was an avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing and hunting. Casey was also passionate about boating and water sports, including wake boarding and tubing. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Casey’s wonderful smile and big heart will be missed by all who knew him and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Whitney Smith; his daughters, Kimber Jade Smith and Alexandria Brooke Smith; his step-children, Brooklynn Leigh McWaters, Baylee Rayne McWaters, and Beau Wyatt McWaters; his mother, Clair Woodham (Mike Hughes); his father, Sidney (Karen) Smith; his grandparents, Jean and Roger Smith; his sister, Mallory Smith; his step-sister, Breanna Taylor; and his half-sister, Emily Michaud.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Davy Dozier, Kameron Greathouse, Colt Ludlum, Corey Shiver, Brian Shiver, and Tony Howell.
