Cassie Pate Romano
Cassie Pate Romano, of Dothan, died Friday, January 6, 2012 at Westside Terrace where she lived. She was 97.
Graveside services will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, January, 8, 2012 at Memory Hill Cemetery with Father Patrick Gallagher of St. Columba Catholic Church officiating and Byrd Funeral Home on West Main Street directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:00 on Sunday prior to service time.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice, 104 Rock Bridge Road, Dothan, AL 36303 or Catholic Social Services, 557 W. Main Street, Dothan, AL, 36301.
Mrs. Romano was born in Geneva County, Alabama where she lived until marrying her husband of 62 years, Nick J. Romano, who died on Dec. 12, 2002. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Columba Catholic Church.
She is survived by a son, Nick J. Romano, Jr. and a daughter, Linda (Tom) Jones; six grandchildren, Tiffani (Danny) Peters, Jason (Kim) Jones, Brian Knotts, Daniel (Courtney) Stephens, Shane Romano and Yancey Romano; ten great grandchildren, Andrew, Emily and Abigail Peters, Taylor and Cameron Jones, Shelby and Tana Knotts, Cassie and Peyton Stephens and Alexis Romano; also a special sister-in-law, Christine Pate, of Sanford, FL.
Mrs. Cassie’s family would like to express their sincere thanks to Covenant Hospice and all her loving caretakers at Westside Terrace for all their support and compassion during this time.
