Catherine Mitchell

Catherine Mitchell, 74 of Dothan, Alabama, passed away on January 3, 2021 at Southeast Health in Dothan, Alabama.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Sunset Memorial Park with Pastor Craig Mitchell, of Good News Ministry, officiating. The family asks that all who attend the service follow the current CDC guidelines, and ask that you refrain from direct personal contact. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Arrangements are made by Sunset Memorial Park Funeral Home and Crematory.

Catherine was born to James and Willie Pear McPherson on January 17, 1946. She worked as a factory worker for several different companies. She was a faithful member to her church and always had a smile that made you feel special. Catherine loved God and her family, both natural and her church family.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; her son Kenneth Mitchell; her sister, Marsha Davis; her three brothers, Joe McPherson, Willie James McPherson, and Bobby McPherson.

She is survived by her two daughters, Karen (Johnny) Dawkins and Kathy Whiters; her three sons, Craig (Bessie) Mitchell, Steve (Angela Rogers) Mitchell, and Marvin Mitchell; her three sisters, Geraldine Barksdale, Mary Frances McPherson, and Judy (Kopy) Whitehurst; her two brothers, Perry (Loretta) McPherson and Phillip (Kathy) McPherson; and a host of grand and great-grands, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
