KINSEY…Cathy Alford Raborn, a resident of Kinsey, died Wednesday morning, September 16, 2015. She was 69.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, September 22, 2015, in the Memory Hill Cemetery, Hartford Highway, Dothan, with Reverend Sam White officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Monday at the mortuary in Headland.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to AlaCare Hospice, 3379 West Main Street, Dothan, Alabama 36305.
Mrs. Raborn was a native of Darlington, Florida, daughter of the late Thurman and Pearl Alford. She lived most of her lifetime in Kinsey where she was a member of the Kinsey Baptist Church. Mrs. Raborn received an Associate’s Degree in Arts from Wallace Community College. She was formerly employed as Office Manager in the operation of Beck Automotive in Dothan. She had also been employed at Sears and formerly owned and operated Tots & Toddlers Day Care in Kinsey. Mrs. Raborn was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lee Raborn, a daughter, Rhonda Lynn Raborn, a step-son, Richard Michael (Mickey) Raborn, siblings Pete Alford, Ronnie (Ray) Alford, Malcolm Junior Alford, Selma Eunice Jones, Sybil June Jones and Mary Elizabeth Alford.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Mary Alford Freeman, Tampa, FL; a step-daughter, Linda Raborn, Columbus, GA; a son, Richard Chad Raborn, Kinsey; a sister, Peggy Sauls, Dothan; two brothers, James Thomas (Tom) Alford, Lake City, FL and Thurman Rex (Rip) Alford, Newnan, GA; a granddaughter, Courtney Brianne Freeman, a step-granddaughter, Kerri Lynn Harrison, a step-great-granddaughter, Brittany Lynn Graybill.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Gene Mills, Daniel Bristow, Michael Barnes, and John Eiland.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Patsy and Tony Sauls for the loving care and kindness shown to Mrs. Raborn during her illness.
