HALEBURG… On October 31, 2024, God opened the Pearly Gates and said “Well done my GOOD and FAITHFUL Servant” as Cathy Carpenter Dyson entered. She was 71.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 3, 2024, at Shiloh Free Will Baptist Church near Columbia, Alabama, with Reverend James Welch officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Dyson was born in Blakely, Georgia to the late Hillie Lee Carpenter and Mary Evelyn Ivey Carpenter. She had previously lived in Columbia, Alabama before moving to Haleburg, Alabama approximately 42 years ago. She attended Houston County High School. She was retired from West Point Stevens and as a caretaker. She was a member of the Shiloh Free Will Baptist Church.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Serena Arnold; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry Dyson and Florrie Dyson.
Leaving to cherish her memories is her husband of fifty-five years, Donald Dyson; her daughters, Amy Odom (Greg), Florrie McDonald, and Angela; her son Paul Dyson (Pam); her brothers, Foy Carpenter (Jeannie) and Curtis Carpenter (Phyllis); her grandchildren, Ivy Forrester, Silas Forrester (Jessica), James Paul Dyson, Kayla Dyson, Savannah Cooper (Jonathan), Shelbi McDonald, Thomas McDonald, Harleigh Bickley, Dalton Girard (Ramsey), Charlie Pate Abshire, and LeAnna Hataway (Chris); her nine great-grandchildren; and a very special niece, Capree Kueckelham; and her several other nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be her grandsons and granddaughters.
