DOTHAN…Cathy Richards Sprouse, a resident of Dothan, died early Tuesday morning, December 18, 2018, in a Dothan hospital. She was 66.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 20, 2018, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary chapel with Reverend Hugh D. Kirkland, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, between Dothan and Headland. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Thursday in the chapel.
Mrs. Sprouse was born and reared in Dale County in the Napier Field area, daughter of the late Arby C Richards, Sr. and Georgia Lou Trawick Richards. She was a graduate of Dale County High School and moved to Dothan in 1978. Mrs. Sprouse retired as Customer Service Manager from Compass Bank and attended Mt. Ararat Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Boyd, and her brother, Arby C. Richards, Jr.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Mark Sprouse; her daughter, Crystal Whitehead (Tom), Wetumpka; her son, Cody Sprouse (Karla), Dothan; six brothers, George Richards (Edna), Wicksburg, William E. Richards, Napier Field, Larry M. Richards (Teresa), Midland City, Johnny Ray Richards, Michael A. Richards, and Marty Richards, all of Napier Field; three grandchildren, Ashli Fletcher (Jaystin), Grayson Bruner and Conner Sprouse; three great-grandchildren, Maliah Fletcher, Kylie Fletcher and Eva Fletcher; her father-in-law, Curtis Sprouse; a sister-in-law, Jeannie Cravey; numerous nieces and nephews.
