Cecil Robbins of Slocomb left us peacefully, in the comfort of his own home to go be with the Lord on the morning of April 21, 2017, surrounded by family. He was 71.

Funeral services will be held at 10am Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Bethany Baptist Church, Esto Community, with Bro. Tim Foxworth and Bro. Hughvon King officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Jimmy Bottoms of Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm Monday, April 24, 2017 at Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Hartford.

Cecil was a good man. He loved the Lord and his children too. Cecil took pride in being a mechanic and all of the paint and body work he did, as well as his skill for carpentry. He had an eye for detail and if presented with a challenge, Cecil would always be the one to fix it. Cecil was known well for his jokes and his sense of humor. We all love him dearly and he sure is going to be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Bud and Lillie May Doggett Robbins; baby brother, Hubert Robbins; four sisters, Dorthy Neil Rhodes, Martha Sue Robbins, Essie Dale Reeves and Myrtis B. Roberts.

He is survived by six children, Christine Robbins, 23, Judy Faye Howell, 49, Frankie Robbins, 43, Brenda Faye Tanner, 50, Sammy Joe Robbins, 45, and Cecil Wayne Robbins, 47; one brother, Jerry Robbins; several nieces, nephews and friends.

Special thanks to Adana Florist in Hartford and to Lamar and Myra Jones at Myra’s Florist of Slocomb.
