Celestine Virginia Allen

Celestine Virginia Allen passed away on July 8, 2021 at a local hospital. She was 61.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Celestine was born on September 5, 1959 to William and Helen McMullen in Sparta, Georgia. She was a 1977 graduate of Hancock Central High School. Celestine attended the University of Kansas and transferred to Troy State where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources. She worked as the director for several years before retiring in 2016. She was a published author and wrote several poems and books. In her pastime, Celestine enjoyed playing golf, tennis, bowling, and cooking gourmet food for her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Greg Allen; her brothers, William (Gwen) McMullen, Jr., Ralph (Amelia) McMullen, Roland (Martha) McMullen, and Calvin (Rebecca) McMullen; her sisters, Brenda (William) Warren and Rita McMullen; her brothers-in-law, Darryl Williams, and Douglas Williams; her sister-in-law, Wyattnette Mathews; and a host of nieces and nephews she adored.
