MOBILE…Celia Jo (Jobie) Webb, a resident of Mobile, Alabama, formerly of Webb, Alabama, died Monday, February 8, 2016, in Mobile.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 11, 2016, in the Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will also be held at 12:00 noon Friday, February 12, 2016, in the Webb Baptist Church with Reverend Joel Laseter officiating. Burial will follow in the Webb Cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of local arrangements. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 noon Friday in the church sanctuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (jdrf.org), 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004.
Miss Webb was a native of Webb, Alabama, daughter of the late Thomas Cecil Webb and Kathryn Snell Webb Watson. She was a longtime resident of Mobile and a former teacher for the Jackson County, MS and Mobile County Public School Systems. Miss Webb was a 1967 graduate of Dothan High School, and a 1971 graduate of Troy University. She later received her Master’s Degree from the University of South Alabama in Mobile. Miss Webb was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Mobile.
Surviving relatives include a brother, Tommy Webb (Suzanne); two nephews, Adam Webb (Karlie) and Justin Webb (Nicole); a niece, Rachel Kathryn Webb; and many cousins.
