Charles A. Dorminy, 86, formerly of Cordele/Warwick, GA passed away in peace at his home with his family in Dothan on Monday, July 13, 2015. He has resided there with his son and daughter-in-law and grandchildren for the past four years. Charles was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served for 22 years. All 5 of his sons served in the Navy as well.

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Holland officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives from 3-4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. A military tribute will follow.

Mr. Dorminy was born on January 30, 1929 in Cordele, Georgia. He is survived by his children William “Bill” Alton Dorminy, Mary Ann Heard, Susan Denise Hockaday, and Charles “Buddy” Anthony Dorminy; two step-sons Jess Babich and Pete Babich; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother and sister, Ronald J. Dorminy and Mittie Thomas. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine V. Scott Dorminy; a son, John Scott Dorminy; brothers, Robert L. Dorminy, Horace Dorminy, and A.J. Dorminy; sister, Doris Dowdy; and his parents Alvin Lorenzo Dorminy and Irene Beatrice Jones Dorminy.
