Charles A. Thomas, 58, a resident of Dothan died Monday, April 29, 2013 at Oakview Manor in Ozark, Alabama.



Funeral services will be held 9:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, May 1, 2013 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Trail officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Louisville, Alabama with Byrd Funeral Home on West Main Street directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.



Mr. Thomas was born March 23, 1955 in Louisville, Alabama where he lived the early years of his life. He later resided in Dale County before moving to Dothan in 2003 where he lived the remainder of his life.  He owned Creative Cuts and Thomas Janitorial Company for several years. Mr. Thomas was employed with Flowers Hospital for the past 10 years where he enjoyed many friendships. He was an artist and loved drawing, painting and playing the guitar. He was also an avid Auburn football fan. Mr. Thomas was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church.



Survivors include a son, Eric Thomas of Dothan; a daughter, Hannah Vincent (Ronnie) of Metter, GA; a granddaughter, Bailey Vinson; two sisters, Liddie Mae Thomas of Destin, FL and Margaret Purswell (Jerry) of Crestview, FL; aunts and uncles, Bobby and Ann Kennedy of Ashford and Willie Garrett of Midland City; a special friend, Wanda Chestnut; his godparents, Mr. and Mrs. Dean; several nieces and nephews also survive.
