Charles Abb Deloney, 84, of Ozark, AL passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Flowers Hospital after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home with Elder Larry Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5-7 at the funeral home.
Abb the son of Bill and Lillie Deloney is a lifelong resident of Dale County. He went on to serve 4 years in the Navy during the Korean War, and later in life he became the Co-Owner of Deloney Lumber Company. You could always find him watching the Atlanta Braves, reading his Bible, or mowing the lawn. He loved serving Ozark Primitive Baptist Church as a church member and Deacon.
Mr. Deloney is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Laura Jean Deloney; granddaughter, Amanda Jill Deloney; and two siblings Bill Deloney Jr., and Martha Sue Logan.
He is survived by son, Steve (Caryn) Deloney; a daughter, Sharon (Mike) Evans; six grandchildren, Michael (Kristie) Deloney, Ashley Dunn, Amanda Evans, Shannon (Drew) Goodson, Kimberly Evans, and Chelsey Dunn; two great grandchildren, Laney and McKinley Deloney; two siblings, Robert (Connie) Deloney, and Margie (Dick) Bensinger; one brother in law E W Logan; and one sister in law Hilda Deloney.
The family would like to thank all of those that provided care and support during his extended illness.
