Charles Arthur Wiggins, a resident of Ashford died Monday, April 9, 2012 at his residence. He was 79.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 11 A. M. at the Bluff Springs Baptist Church with Reverends Dennis Singletary , Jerry Nelson and Barry Holcomb officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home Directing. The family will receive friends at the Church from 9:30 until 11 A. M. prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Ruth Wiggins Music Memorial Fund, at Bluff Springs Baptist Church.
Mr. Wiggins joined the Navy after high school and served four years. In 1952 he married his high school sweetheart, Ruth Addison.
He retired after more than 30 years with Uni-Source, formally Dothan Paper Company. Mr. Wiggins served as an active deacon for over 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Ruth; his parents, Arthur Malone Wiggins and Mary Agnes Windsor Wiggins and two brothers, Joel and Larry Wiggins.
Survivors include his daughter, Starla Ingram and her husband Jerry of Ashford; Son, Tim Wiggins and his wife Sara of Dothan; two sisters, Eleanor Faye Kirkland and her husband Tommy of Webb and Jacqueline Kay and her husband Joel of Ashford.
Grandchildren, Jerilee Rogers and husband Craig; Ben Ingram; Maggie Jimmerson and husband Jack,Jr and Claire Wiggins.
