Charles “Bill” William Parrish Sr. passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at his home in Enterprise.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 4, 2016 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise with Pastor James Endrihs officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday beginning at 1:00 and continuing until service time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Alabama Boys & Girls Ranch, or North Dakota Boys & Girls Ranch.
Bill was born April 6, 1927, in Ozark, Alabama. He was a World War II veteran who served in the United States Army from June 20, 1945 – November 27, 1946. He worked as a salesman at Nichols Oldsmobile for many years before becoming the owner of Parrish Auto Sales. He was a faithful member of Christ the King Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles W. and Annie Hudson Parrish; a son, Charles “Chuck” W. Parrish Jr.; two sisters: Peggy (Bill) Gary and Dottie (Rex) Redd; and a brother, Samuel Lewis Parrish.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Pearl Ellis Parrish of Enterprise; a daughter, BettyAnn Stinson of Japan; a sister, Betty Gamble of Dothan; two grandchildren: Charles Douglas Stinson (Lauren) and Craig William Stinson (Tracy); three great-grandchildren: Isabella, Charles Ford Stinson, and Grayson White; many extended family members.
