ABBEVILLE. . .Charles David Woodham, a resident of Abbeville, died early Saturday afternoon, March 21, 2015, at his home. He was 80.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 24, 2015, in the Judson Baptist Church with Reverend Gerald Ross and Reverend Brandon Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Tuesday in the church sanctuary.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice, P.O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, AL 36302.
Mr. Woodham was born in Abbeville and was reared in Texasville, son of the late Phil David Woodham and Geraldine Doswell Woodham. He served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War. Mr. Woodham lived in Abbeville before moving to the Screamer Community in 1971. He was retired as a sheet metal worker from American Buildings Company of Eufaula. Mr. Woodham was a member of the Judson Baptist Church and the V.F.W. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Emily Watford Woodham and two sisters, Ann Starling and Joyce Snell.
Surviving relatives include three step-daughters, Carol Kirkland, Dothan; Marie Smothers (Wayne), and Virginia Hayes (Michael), all of Abbeville; two step-sons, Rusty Norton (Jean), Abbeville; and Roy A. Norton (Shirley), Montgomery; a brother, John Ed Woodham (Sue), Summerville, GA; ten step-grandchildren, numerous step-great and step-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their appreciation to caregivers, Jean, Tina, Hali, and Samantha and also to Gentiva Hospice for the loving care and kindness shown to Mr. Woodham during his illness.
