DOTHAN. . .Charles Franklin Hudson, a resident of Dothan, died early Thursday morning, May 11, 2017, at his home. He was 73.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 13, 2017, in the Sylvan Grove United Methodist Church with Reverend Dr. Billy D. Gaither officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Saturday in the church sanctuary.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Sylvan Grove United Methodist Church c/o Wyndle Enfinger, 3991 County Road 73, Midland City, AL 36350.
Mr. Hudson was born in Dothan and grew up in Graceville and Campbellton, Florida, son of the late Raymond A. Hudson and Martha Bragan Hudson. He was a graduate of Campbellton High School where he played basketball for the Wildcats State Champions his senior year and was selected class President and Valedictorian. Mr. Hudson earned his B.S. Degree in Marketing and Business Administration from Troy State University in 1969. He served six years in the Florida Army National Guard. Mr. Hudson began his sales career with Colgate-Palmolive as Territory Manager and later as a District Manager in Pensacola, Florida. He was a member of the Sylvan Grove United Methodist Church. He was a Master Mason, Knights Templar and a Shriner.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Barbara Dease Hudson; a daughter, Julie H. Majors (Greg), Birmingham; a son, Charles Blake Hudson (Andrea), Birmingham; a sister, Kathy H. Peacock (Tommy), Dothan; four grandchildren, Madison Majors, Jake Majors, Andrew Hudson, and Hannah Hudson.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Ricky Woodham, Joe Dease, Doug Dease, John Peacock, Clay Dell and Mike Dease.
