DOTHAN…Charles Lamar Broadwater, a resident of Dothan, died Thursday evening, January 14, 2021, in a Dothan hospital. He was 81.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Broadwater was born and reared in Opelika, son of the late Webster Broadwater and Annie Edwards Broadwater. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Mr. Broadwater lived in Mobile where he owned and operated Luther’s BBQ Restaurant. He later moved to Dothan in 1990 and formerly operated the Checkers Restaurants. Mr. Broadwater was a member of the Heritage Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by all of his brothers and sisters.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Carolyn Senn Broadwater; two daughters, Rhonda Thomas, Cocoa, FL; and Kimberly Broadwater, Elizabethton, TN; three sons, Mark Broadwater, Chula Vista, CA; Jeffery Broadwater, Panama City Beach, FL; and Michael Jones (Stacey), Midland City; four grandchildren, Tyler Jones, Anna Jones, Nolan Broadwater and Ryan Broadwater; a great-granddaughter, Zoey Jones.
