Charles "Lindy" Linderman (CW4 Ret.), a resident of Enterprise, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at his residence. He was 83.
A memorial service will be held at 4 pm on Sunday, April 9, 2017 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:30-4 pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army, 1001 S. Bell Street, Dothan, AL 36301.
Mr. Linderman was born on February 25, 1934 in Scranton, PA and lived the early years of his life there. He joined the US Army Air Corp and later served in the US Air Force for 30 years before he retired in 1980. Mr. Linderman was a veteran of the Korean War, served 2 tours in Vietnam, and a duty assignment to Africa. He served as a game warden on Ft. Rucker and later owned and operated Lindy's Gun and Pawn Shop in Daleville. After his retirement, he was very active in local Republican politics. He was a member of the Newton Masonic Lodge #224, York Rite, Scottish Rite, very active ultra light flier, Veteran Affairs, DAV, and VFW.
Survivors include his sons, Chuck (Shelly) Linderman and Steven Linderman, Auburn, Washington; his 6 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
