Charles R. Casper, 90, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022. He was born on March 7, 1931, in Wauchula, FL., to the late Robert Casper and Fairy (Allen) Casper.


A Celebration of Life Service will be 2PM, Friday, February 4, 2022, at Southside Baptist Church.


Charles was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather. Charles was an active Sunday school member of Southside Baptist Church. His hobbies were, knife collecting, bird watching, fishing, walking, and hiking in the mountains. In his younger years he was an avid racquetball player. Charles loved animals, especially dogs. Charles proudly served his country in the United States Army. He retired from Monsanto Fiber Division in Greenville, S.C.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Scott Casper, and a sister, Shirley Lowman.


Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Mattie Casper, children, Linda (Hal) Black, and Mark Casper, brother, Paul (Merritt) Casper, grandchildren, Halley (A.J.) Manett, Dawson (Molly) Black, and Nicole (Clark) Casper, great-grandchildren, Lily Black, and James Manett, along with several nieces, nephews, and loving family members.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the following organizations: Kindred Hospice, Southside Baptist Church, or The Humane Society.
