CHARLES ROBERT BARRON, SR.
ABBEVILLE. . .Charles Robert Barron, Sr., a resident of Abbeville, died Tuesday afternoon, July 5, 2016, at his home. He was 71.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 6, 2016, in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Donny Dunn officiating. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends following the graveside services.
Mr. Barron was a lifelong resident of Abbeville and was a 1963 graduate of Abbeville High School. He was retired as an insurance agent from Mutual Savings Life. After retirement, he was employed by WalMart in Eufaula. A musician and drummer, he played with several bands in the Wiregrass area. Mr. Barron was preceded in death by his father, Sam Barron, Jr.
Surviving relatives include five daughters, Lori Barron Smith, Headland; Leia Barron Money, Dothan; Leisha Barron Turvin, Slocomb; Sammie Lynn Barron Baxley, and Tara Barron Coachman, both of Dothan; a son, Charles Robert Barron, Jr., Sylacauga; his mother, Clarice Brady Barron, Abbeville; three sisters, Linda Barron Cotton, Dothan; Kathy Barron Beaty (Danny), Abbeville; and Nancy Barron Spivey (Donny), Blue Springs; two brothers, Harold Barron, Graceville; and Sammy Barron (Melanie), Shorterville; eighteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; the mother of his three oldest daughters, C. Sharon Smith, Cottonwood; the mother of his youngest daughter, Kaye Murray Brock, Abbeville; and the mother of Sammie Lynn Baxley and Charles Robert Barron, Jr., Jeanette Kehle, Dothan.
