Charlie "Bill" Padgett, 84, a resident of Malone, FL passed away Friday May 12, 2017 in Marianna, Florida.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm Tuesday May 16, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. John Padgett and Rev. Greg Padgett officiating. The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Padgett was born August 29, 1932 in Montgomery, AL until he moved to Defuniak Springs, Florida at an early age. He served 4 years in the United States Navy during the Korean War as a Petty Officer. He resided in Malone, FL for over 30 years. Mr. Padgett was a machinist at Unimac from 1979 until his retirement in 1995. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Ruby Padgett; two sons, John (Eunice) Padgett, C.R. "Bobby" Padgett; a daughter, Sherri (Jasper) Adams; five grandchildren, Greg Padgett, Melissa Nimocks, Stacie Bennett, Ron Adams, and Caleb Padgett; nine great-grandchildren; one brother; four sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
