Charlotte Lewis Sipple Obituary

Charlotte Lewis Sipple, 78 of Columbus gained her wings Wednesday July 31, 2024 at her residence with her son and daughter by her side. Wednesday August 7, 2024, a memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00pm est. at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Charlotte was born January 6, 1946 in Dothan, AL to the late Shellie T. Lewis and Bernice Bowen Lewis. She was one of 11 siblings. She graduated from Dothan High School and was elected to the 4H Council, Webb as reporter. As a girl, she walked to Smyrna Baptist Church for services. She was the mother of two and had two beautiful grandsons whom she loved with all her heart. Then came three great grandchildren who brought another level of happiness to her life. Spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren was her favorite hobby. Oh but how she loved PC Beach where growing up she learned to water ski in the bay. After retirement she even moved there with her youngest grandson and did an amazing job giving him new direction in life.

She was a real estate agent in Columbus and surrounding area for thirty years and was a lifetime member of the million dollar club. For most of her real estate career, she worked with Kelsey Kennon Real Estate Agency, and made many lifelong friends, clients. She was also a member of the ABWA. Then following in her mother's footsteps of helping others, becoming a Registered Nurse, attending Southern Union in Opelika, AL and graduated from Auburn University School of Nursing. Her education and love of helping people directed her to several very well known health facilities. She retired from Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation and during her career she worked for St. Francis Hospital, East Alabama Medical Center, and West Central Georgia Regional Hospital. Her work ethic was instilled by her parents at an early age as she grew up on a sharecropper cotton farm picking cotton.

She loved Auburn University. Attending many of the football games with her sisters and brother Earl and of course showing her children the beauty of Auburn. She enjoyed Auburn Basketball and even took others to the games to lift their spirits. She always had an open door and enjoyed family reunions and a house full of joy and laughter. She made an impact on many lives having an open door for her children's and grandchildren’s friends as well. Many of whom would refer to her as being like a mother to them when growing up.

Survivors include Daughter: Jacquelyn George (Jared) of Columbus, GA. Son: Adrian Sipple Jr. (Dawn) of Hamilton, GA., Grandsons: Morgan Springer (Hannah) of Cataula, Ga. and Sgt. Gage Sipple USMC (Hannah) of Beaufort, SC., Great Grandchildren: Anna Grace Springer, Maylee Rae Springer, Fischer Morgan Springer of Cataula, GA. Sisters: Annette Taylor,Erma Williams and Bevery Davis (Glynn) of Dothan, AL, Sonia Long (Roger) of Webb, AL. Brother: Bobby Lewis of Dothan,AL. Sister-in-Laws: Gloria Lewis of Montgomery, AL., Betty Lewis of Dothan, AL. and Patty Lewis of FL. Multiple nieces and nephews all of whom she loved so very much.
