WEBB, ALABAMA. . .Cheryle Skeen Brackin, a resident of Webb, died Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at her home. She was 73.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 6, 2021, in the Bluff Springs Baptist Church, near Ashford, with Pastor LaDon Brackin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday at the mortuary in Headland. Social distancing and mask guidelines will be observed.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to God’s House of Hope, 377 Main Street, Nettleton, Mississippi 38858.
Cheryle Brackin was born and reared in Dothan and was a 1966 graduate of Dothan High School. She was retired as a Dental Hygienist and formerly worked in dental offices in Dothan, Mobile and Atlanta. Cheryle was a member of the Bluff Springs Baptist Church. She was an avid Auburn Tiger football and Atlanta Braves baseball fan. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Quinton Skeen and Kathryn Calloway Skeen, her step-mother, Mable Skeen, and a sister-in-law, Carla Skeen.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Gary Vinson Brackin; three sons, Scott Battles (Rachel), Gulf Breeze, FL; Vince Brackin (Loren), Granite City, Illinois; and Jon Neil Brackin, Nettleton, MS; two brothers, John W. Skeen (Angela), Thomasville, GA; and Jeff Skeen, Dothan; five grandchildren, Griffen Battles, Brooklynn Brackin, Reid Battles, Jolene Brackin and Parker Jarrett; numerous nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Jeff Skeen, John Skeen, John Carter Skeen, Cliff Jeffcoat, Michael Bedsole and Chandler Crawford.
