Chester Dean Osgood, 79, returned to his heavenly home on June 15, 2021 after a valiant battle with a long illness. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace knowing that he was spiritually prepared to face eternity.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11 am on Friday, June 18, 2021 in Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Doug MacCormack officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10-11 am.
Chester was born to the late Arthur Osgood and Mildred Moland Moore, in Bath, NY on September 23, 1941. He held a position as a Paint & Body worker for 20+ years and also did over the road truck driving. He graduated from Salt Lake Baptist College with a Doctrine degree in Theology in 2019 and loved telling everyone he met about the Lord.
Chester was blessed with a large and loving family. He married his best friend Carolyn Delores King, on April 20, 1963 in Johnson City, TN. Chester helped raise his 2 children in a loving home. Chester was a Soul Winner at heart. He was hard working, caring and outspoken, and always had time to answer a question about the Lord, no matter how simple or complex. He Loved working on his Facebook group he created called Godly Disciple Discussions, that has currently grown to over 5000 members now, to help spread the gospel and educate others about Christ. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his Creator and Savior.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Louise and one grandchild. Chester is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carolyn; his son, John and wife Patricia Osgood; his daughter, Lisa and husband Patrick Carter; his grandchildren, Joshua Carter, Tiffiny and husband Curtis Suggs, Joseph and wife Ashley Carter, Samuel Osgood, and Daniel Osgood; and his brothers, Arthur Osgood, Wesley Osgood, and Dean Moore; along with four great-grandchildren, Riley, Christian, Kaylee, and Beau; and a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
