Chip Eugene Gaier, 54, of Midland City passed away on Sunday, March 13th, 2016.
He was born in Middlesboro, KY on September 18, 1961 to parents Jimmie Barnes and Phyllis Cheek. Raised under the care of Jean Gaier, he graduated from Dothan High in 1980. He married Sandra Rupp Gaier on January 14th, 1986
As best friend Carl Hickox, Jr. put it: “Chip Gaier left a lasting impression. He was my friend, like a brother. Chip was a hardworking man who was always willing to help someone in need. He loved his family, Sandy being his best friend and wife and Jeana, his little girl, was the sun of his solar system. He loved her so very much and spoke of her all the time. Chip was a good man and true friend! I will miss him! I will miss his laughter, his smile, his dry sense of humor, but most of all I will miss our long talks and feeble attempts to solve the world’s problems. Chip Gaier, my friend rest in peace!” Those kind words are exactly the legacy that chip left on everyone he knew.
Chip is preceded in death by Grandmother Jean Gaier, father Jimmie Barnes, mother Phyllis Cheek, and sisters Jill and Loretta Barnes.
Chip is survived by his wife Sandra Gaier, his daughter Jeana Breuer (John), his bother Jimmie Barnes(Tami), his sister Pat Morrow (Ben), his nephews James Barnes and Cody Morrow, as well as his niece Jill Barnes.
