Chris Allan Efurd, 52, of Webb passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2012 near his home.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Watermark Church in Ashford with Rev. Todd Thorpe officiating. Burial will follow in Crestlawn Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7 Saturday at Watermark Church.

Chris was born September 27, 1959 in Houston County and has resided in the Ashford area all of his life. He was a 1977 graduate of Ashford Academy. He worked at the family store all of his life and was an avid body builder winning the title of Mr. Dothan and Mr. Alabama. Chris was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting. He was a Mason at the Ashford Lodge and a member of the Scottish Rite. Chris was a member of Watermark Church where he served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his father Thomas Ray Efurd and his brother-in-law Eddie Vickers.

Survivors include his wife Tammy Efurd of Webb; his sons, Caleb Efurd of Webb and Michael Efurd of Webb; his mother Louise Efurd of Ashford; a brother, Bobby (Jane) Efurd of Webb; a sister, Sandra Vickers of Ashford; nephews and nieces, John Solomon V, Ivey Katz, Jace Vickers, Kelsey Vickers, Jarrett Vickers, Jonathan Johnson, Jamison Johnson, Kristen Hyde, David Henderson, Nathan Johnson, Brian Johnson, and Nikki Cochran; several other family members and friends also survive.

Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Irwin, Mark Fellows, Todd Smith, Wayne Folkes, William "Houdi" Odom, Mark Kelley, Heath Macko, and Larry Tedder.
