Mrs. Christine McGriff, age 76, passed away Thursday, November 1, 2018 at her home.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 5, 2018 at 11:00 am at Glover Funeral Home with Reverend Billy Rich officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery with Kendall Glover directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 until 6:00 pm on Sunday, November 4, 2018. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Parkinson Foundation, PO Box 514, Hagerstown, Maryland, 21741.
Mrs. McGriff was born on March 14, 1942, in Echo, AL to the late Rufus and Kathryn Powell Brantley. She graduated from Dothan High School in 1960. Christine worked at SAMC in the insurance department for several years, then prior to her retirement, she worked as the membership coordinator for Sam’s Club for 17 years. Growing up, Christine was an avid roller- skater, competing on roller skates at Bob-A-Lou along with other young athletes. She loved going to the mountains and being with her children and grandchildren. She was member of Southside Baptist Church for 60 years and was a member of the Linda Mills Sunday School Class.
Survivors are her husband, David McGriff, 3 daughters Joy Andrews, Allyson Edwards (Josh) of Dothan and Kristi Gatlin (Jody) of Enterprise; 2 sons Ashley Andrews of Dothan and Tobias McGriff (Chasity) of Savannah, GA; 7 grandchildren, Chasity Quirantes (Johnny), Ethan Edwards, Emily Edwards, Coleman Gatlin, Ansley Gatlin, Judson Gatlin, Finn McGriff; 3 great-grandchildren Alex Quirantes, Aubrie Quirantes and JJ Quirantes.
