Christopher "CJ" Lee Johnson, a man whose laughter was as infectious as his love for life, left this world unexpectedly on April 29, 2024, in his hometown of Dothan, Alabama. Born on September 25, 1973, also in Dothan, CJ’s journey was one filled with joy, adventure, and a touch of Elvis’s hip-shaking charm.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with burial to follow in Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

CJ's career in automotive sales was legendary; customers would drive miles, passing countless dealerships, just to have the "CJ Experience." And when he wasn’t closing deals on the lot, he was closing them on houses, with a smile that could light up a room and a handshake as trustworthy as his character.

But CJ wasn’t all business. Oh no, he was the life of every party, a social butterfly who could flit from fishing to golfing without missing a beat. He was the kind of guy who loved taking trips, and traveling with his family. He was an avid Elvis fan, which meant he was all shook up in the best way possible, and his love for Auburn Football was as deep as the ocean—War Eagle, indeed!

Back in his younger days, CJ played baseball with such a fiery passion that even a professional recruiter came knocking on his door, hoping to snag him as a pitcher. But CJ’s heart was too big for just one sport; he also helped at JL Smith Farms, where he raised and broke horses with the same gentle touch he used to reel in the big fish.

Family was the cornerstone of CJ’s world. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Mary "Mama J" Johnson, and his sister, Margie Worley.

He leaves behind a legacy of love with his wife, Felicia Johnson, who was his rock, his anchor, and his best friend. His children, Joshua Baker (Kimberly), Tiffany Watson, Marissa Watson (Aaron Windsor), and David Isiac Glover, knew him as the world’s greatest dad, and the title was well-earned. His granddaughter, Taylor Nicole Watson, was the apple of his eye, and he was eagerly awaiting the arrival of his first-born grandson, who is set to make his grand entrance in just two weeks.

CJ’s siblings, Beth Johnson, Kelly Johnson (Terri), and Bobby Johnson (Deborah), along with his nephews, Tony Johnson, Chad Worley, Blake Johnson, and Kyle Johnson; mother-in-law, Linda Elli; sister-in-law, Wanda Hyatt; brother-in-law, David Messick, and his special friend and father figure, Ryan Kriser, will miss his larger-than-life presence

Described by friends as adventurous, loving, and friendly, CJ was a man of great character and integrity. He was the kind of guy who would give you his last dollar if it meant helping you out. His handshake was a contract, his word was gold, and his heart was an open door.

CJ’s life was a testament to the power of laughter, the strength of love, and the joy of a well-lived life. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, let’s remember him not with tears, but with the kind of laughter that echoes through the ages, the kind of laughter that CJ would have wanted.

So, here’s to CJ, a man who could charm the stars from the sky and who has now taken his place among them. May his tales of fish that were "this big" and his memories of perfect golf swings warm our hearts until we meet again. Rest in peace, CJ, and thanks for the memories.
