Christopher Dean Whitehead, a resident of the Tumbleton Community near Headland, died Friday morning, October 16, 2015, at his home. He was 36.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 18, 2015, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Harrison Steege and Pastor Ruth Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery- East. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the mortuary in Headland.
Christopher Whitehead was a lifelong resident of the Tumbleton Community, where he was a member of the Tumbleton Community Pentecostal Church. Christopher was preceded in death by his grandparents, Pinkie Tidwell Renfroe, Woodrow Wilson Whitehead and Julia Kist Whitehead, and two nephews, Joseph and Joshua Bauman.
Surviving relatives include his parents, William (Doc) Whitehead and Nora Renfroe Whitehead, Tumbleton Community; a sister, Pinkie Lenora Bauman (Kenneth), Browns Crossroads Community of Henry County; his grandfather, James Ralph Renfroe, Headland; aunts and uncles, Lois Shelley, Barbara Peters (Chester), Randy Renfroe (Joyce), Sandra Richardson (Tony), Randy Whitehead (Shirley), Shirley Money (Russell), Della Searcy (Tommy) and Tim Whitehead (Yvonne); a niece, Kaitlyn Bauman; a nephew, Austin Bauman; numerous special cousins and friends.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Ronnie Whitehead, Keith Whitehead, Chucky Brinkley, David Brinkley, Jonathan Renfroe, Michael Brinkley, Lance Renfroe, Joey Richardson, Josh Richardson, and T.J. Richardson.
