Christopher N. Thompson, 30, of Dothan passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at a local hospital.
Funeral services will be 4 pm Friday, March 8, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Van Clack officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Flowers are being accepted or memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 1152 W. Main St., Dothan, AL, 36303, or to Faine Elementary School, 1901 Stringer St., Dothan, AL, 36303.
Chris was born April 14, 1982 in Houston County and lived in Dothan all of his life. He was a 2000 graduate of Northview High School where he played football as center. He was a 2005 graduate of Auburn University where he received his fine arts degree and was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. Chris has been employed with Dothan City School system at Fain Elementary School. He was a member of Heritage Baptist Church.
Survivors include his parents Gary and Dianne Thompson of Dothan; his brother Keith (Ashleigh) Thompson of Auburn; his nieces, Emma Thompson, Lilly Kate Thompson, and Campbell Thompson; his grandmother, Lillian June Thompson of Dothan; his aunts and uncles, Glenn and Marilyn Thompson of Tallahassee, FL, Greg Thompson of Montgomery, AL, Jackie and Ramona Williams of Tupelo, MS, and Buddy and Nell Coggins of Tupelo, MS; several cousins also survive.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jay Williams, Wesley Williams, Greg Ray, Kevin Searcy, and Brad Coggins.
