Cindy Snead Blount, a resident of Dothan, Alabama passed away at her home on Monday, November 13, 2017. She was 57.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 1 pm followed by a Celebration of Life Services at 2 pm in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church with Dr. Johnny Fain officiating and Robert Byrd of Sunset Memorial Park directing. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Dothan or Grandview Elementary School in Mrs. Blount’s memory.

Cindy was born on June 5, 1960 in Dothan, where she resided with her family until her death. She was a graduate of Dothan High School and the University of Alabama. Cindy taught in the Dothan City Schools for 34 years; she was a passionate teacher who touched the lives of so many children and fellow teachers throughout the Southeast. In 2014 she was named Teacher of the Year. Cindy was an active member of First Baptist Church where she was active in the choir, children’s ministry and Barbara Cook’s Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Blount was preceded in death by her mother, Cecelia Adams Uptain and her father-in-law, William Madison Blount, Jr.

Survivors include her husband of 33 years, William Madison Blount, III; a daughter, Cecelia Madison Blount; a son, William Madison Blount, IV; mother-in-law, Charlotte Cannon Blount; her father, Harold Lloyd Snead; brothers, Harry Alan Snead and Charles Adams (Melody) Uptain; her brother-in-law, Stephen Sims Blount; and several nieces and nephews.
