Clara Lou Jacobs Lolley, age 90, of The Cypress of Raleigh, died peacefully on January 19, 2023, in Raleigh, NC.
Lou Lolley grew up in Geneva, Alabama. She was the daughter of Porter and Emma Jacobs, both deceased. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Jacobs. She was a graduate of Geneva High School, Geneva, AL and Troy University, Troy, AL. She received a teaching degree in Early Childhood Education and taught at several elementary schools in Alabama and North Carolina.
When asked how she wanted to be remembered, Lou responded: “I loved life-I loved family-I loved people. My life was full and rewarding and happy!” She wanted memories of her life to give joy to others.
In 1952, Lou married William Randall Lolley-the love of her life. For 70 years, they shared a special love. A selfless, everlasting, sacrificing, unconditional, and active love. A love that overflowed and touched the lives of so many others throughout their ministry.
Lou is survived by daughters Charlotte Murphy and her husband, Pat, Goldsboro, NC and Pam Frey and her husband, Mike, Raleigh, NC.
“Lou Lou” will be sorely missed by her two granddaughters; Kelly Strong and her husband, Tyler, and Kaitlin Driver and her husband, Tim, all living in Holly Springs, NC, and her three great-grandsons; Jacob, Connor, and Duncan.
Lou Lolley will be buried next to her beloved husband, Randall, in Alabama, where they both grew up. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 27, 2023, at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Geneva, AL with Rev. Tony Rosetta officiating and Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva, AL directing.
The family wishes to thank the many caregivers at The Cypress of Raleigh-Rosewood Health Center for their unwavering love and dedication to Lou Lolley.
