Clarence Manley, IV passed away peacefully on May 31, 2023, in Noland Hospital in Dothan, Alabama, after a courageous battle with an extended illness. Born on July 15, 1960, in Atmore, Alabama, Clarence was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who touched the lives of many with his faith-filled, loving, and selfless nature.








Clarence is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Joy Manley; his mother, Rebecca (Richard) Karch; his children, Matthew (Emily) Manley of Dothan and Morgan (Jacob) Hanson of Huntsville; his grandchildren, Avery Manley, James Manley, and Luke Manley, all of Dothan; his sisters, Susan (Cal) Vandivier of Navarre, Florida, and Heather (Leo) Ceron of McDonough, Georgia; and his stepmother, Effie Manley. He was predeceased by his father, Clarence Manley, III.


Clarence was a graduate of Dothan High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Troy University. Clarence’s greatest joy was his family. He cherished every moment spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren, and his love for them knew no bounds. Clarence was a faithful member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church for over 30 years.


The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to their church family at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church for their unwavering love and support. They also extend their deepest thanks to Noland Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion during Clarence’s illness, as well as the DCI Clinic, Dr. Nimmagadda, Dr. Kantamnemi, and Dr. Avula for their outstanding care and dedication.


Clarence’s life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and selflessness. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind. Celebration of Life service to be held at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church on Saturday, June 3rd at 4:00pm with visitation preceding at 3:00pm.
