Mrs. Claudia Williams Meadows, age 67, of Ashford, Alabama passed away at home after an extended illness.


 


Visitation will be held from 5 PM until 7 PM, Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home in Dothan.


 


Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, May 25, 2016 with Reverend Brad Sasser officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.


 


Serving as active pallbearers will be Sammy Williams, Andy Williams, Marc Vaughn, Claude Greiner, Mike Haisten, and Greg Rogero.


 


In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Houston County 4H and funds will be utilized in memory of Claudia Meadows.


 


Mrs. Meadows is preceded in death by Mr. and Mrs. Claude Williams, Jr. of Columbia, AL, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Williams, Sr. of Columbia, AL, Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm W. Hall of Ashford, AL, Mr. Thomas E. Greiner of Dothan, AL, and Mrs. Bethany H. Tatum of Dothan, AL.


 


She is survived by her two children, Robert “Robin” Kipling Meadows of Ashford and Tiffany Claudia Meadows Williams and husband Greg of New Brockton; two sisters, Jean Williams Greiner of Dothan and Amanda Williams Haisten of Dothan; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many cousins, other relatives and friends.


 


Mrs. Meadows was raised in Columbia, Alabama. She lived most of her life in Ashford. She was a graduate of Houston County High School. She graduated from Auburn University with a BS in Education with a minor in Home Economics and she received a Masters Degree in Counseling from Auburn University in Montgomery.


 


Mrs. Meadows was a devoted mother, sister, and friend. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ashford and an active member of the Ashford community. She served as a Houston County Extension Agent, providing diverse programs significantly benefitting the community and had an unwavering commitment to the 4H youth of Houston County for 33 years.


 


Mrs. Meadows was a friend to many and a dedicated mentor to her 4H’ers. She contributed to and impacted all who crossed her path. She will never be forgotten and she will forever be remembered by all as the “4H Lady”!


 


The family would like to recognize and thank all of the Gentiva Hospice staff and nurses as well as her dedicated and loving caregivers. These special individuals are Ashley Frazier, Ann Ashley, Mary Goldsmith, Karen Cummings, Wyshonne Cummings, Amber Calloway, LaShonda Newman, and Lisa Smith.
