Dot Woodham
Cleo Mercer “Dot” Woodham, of Dothan, died Thursday, March 8, 2012, surrounded by her daughters. She was 81.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. Ed Wright and Rev. Brad Bradford officiating. Burial will follow in Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home on West Main Street directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday.
Flowers are being accepted or memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 901 Montezuma Ave., Dothan, AL 36303.
Mrs. Woodham was born April 13, 1930, to George Felix Mercer and Claudie Ryals Mercer in Donaldsonville, Georgia. After a career with Bauman’s and Ted’s Jewelers, she then joined TRW Globe Motors until her retirement. She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church for 54 years. The ladies of the Joy LCG were very special to her.
She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, James W. Woodham, Sr. and a grandson, Donny Rice.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Darlyne and David Lewis, Panama City Beach, FL, Felecia and Steve Brackin, Dothan, AL; a son, James W. Woodham, Jr., Houston, TX; grandchildren, Deanna Rice, Steven and Lindsey Brackin, and Elizabeth and Keith Boozer; five great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, David Woodham, Atlanta, GA; one niece, Charlotte Mercer Langford; and three nephews, David, John, and Edward Woodham.
Active pallbearers will be Steven Brackin, Keith Boozer, Steve Brackin, David Lewis, David Woodham, Edward Woodham and John Woodham.
