Clifton Thomas Owen, Jr., 44 a resident of Dothan, died Saturday, October 22, 2011 at a local hospital.

Memorial services will be held 11 am Tuesday, at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the services.

Mr. Owen was born March 11, 1967 in Dothan and he resided the early years of his life there. He was a 1985 graduate of Northview High School where he was an outstanding baseball player. He had resided in Duncannon, Pennsylvania for the past twelve years prior to moving back to Dothan two months ago. Mr. Owen was employed at Cracker Barrel at the time of his death.

Survivors include, his wife, Sam Owen, Dothan; his mother, Modema Owen, Malvern; his father, Clifton Owen, Sr.; his sister, Alethea Sallinger, New Port News, VA; his son, Thomas Owen, Dothan; his daughter, Brittaney Hughes, Atlanta, GA; his step children, Tricia Eyster, Lauren Liddick, Renae Myers and Wendi Sleeva; 16 grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews including, Brandon Dean.
