BIRMINGHAM. . .Clifton Timothy “Tim” Kirkland, a resident of Birmingham, formerly of Headland and Dothan, died early Thursday morning, December 9, 2021, in the Elite Nursing & Rehabilitation in Birmingham. He was 77.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Tuesday, December 14, 2021, in the Headland Baptist Church Cemetery, Headland, Alabama, with Reverend George Bryan officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Headland Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 301 East Church Street, Headland, AL 36345.
Tim Kirkland was born and reared in Headland, son of the late C. Coy Kirkland and Inez Owens Kirkland. He was graduate of Headland High School and attended Marion Military Institute where he played in the band. A graduate of Troy University, Tim played the trumpet in the Sound of the South Band. He later received a Minister of Music Degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina. Tim served several Baptist churches as Minister of Music. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Winston McGill.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Terri, and a son, Lance, his sister, Norma Kirkland McGill, Birmingham; and two nephews, Winston McGill, Jr. and Kirk McGill, both of Birmingham.
