Cody Dean, 16, of Dothan passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013.
Memorial services will be held 8pm Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Aubrey Sullivan officiating and Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6pm until 8pm Tuesday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Dothan High School ROTC or the Wounded Warrior Project.
Cody was born May 17, 1996 in Houston County and he lived all of his life in Dothan. Cody was a junior at Dothan High School and was in the advance placement honors program. He enjoyed hunting with his dad, running, camping, playing football with his friends and working on his old Dodge pick-up truck. Cody was a member of Dothan High School ROTC where he held the rank of 2nd lieutenant. He had dreams of joining the United States Marine Corps. Cody was preceded in death by his brother Luke Alexander Dean, uncle Jimmy Hoseid, grandmother Barbara Hoseid, grandfather Roger Dean, and great-grandfather Governor Dean.
Survivors include his parents, Wendy and Erik Hoseid, Dothan and Christopher Roger Dean, Dothan; sister, Sidney Kate Hoseid; grandparents, Buddy and Peggy Wood, Dothan, Betty Kirkland and Billy Floyd, Dothan; great-grandparents, Fay and Edward Jackson, Echo; aunts and uncles, Becky Watford, Alan Wood, Kathy Hoseid, Susan Herring, Kelley Hoseid, Danny Hoseid, Sandra and Jeff Bond and Billy Floyd; cousins Bailey and Bruce Mitchell; several great aunts, uncles and additional cousins.
