COLEMAN SKIPPER EVANS
SHORTERVILLE.… Coleman Skipper Evans, a resident of Shorterville, passed away early Sunday morning, March 8, 2020, at his home. He was 15.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel, with Reverend Teddy Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbeville Memorial – East Cemetery with Pastor Jud Waldrop officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday night at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will be at the home of his grandparents (Ira & Sarah Skipper @ 106 McSwean Drive Abbeville, Alabama 36310.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Youth Fund, 310 Dothan Road Abbeville, Alabama 36310 or to the Vocal Wiregrass Angel House, 105 North Bell Street Dothan, Alabama 36303.
Coleman was born in Dothan, Alabama and lived his entire life in Shorterville, Alabama. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Abbeville. He was a sophomore at Headland High School where he was a former member of the Headland Bass Team. In earlier years he enjoyed playing on the Headland Pee Wee Football Team. He was also a member of the Chattahoochee River Hunting Club where he was A.J.’s hunting buddy. Coleman loved fishing and had become his Pa’s fishing buddy. He was very kind hearted and was affectionally known for saying “Do you want a hug”.
Coleman was preceded in death by his father, Kevin Evans; his paternal grandmother, Beth Evans; his step-grandmother, Jeanette Barnes; and his step-grandfather, Billy Barnes.
Leaving to cherish his memories are his mother and step-father, Katie Skipper Barnes (A.J.) of Shorterville; his sisters, Paige Littlefield of Dothan, and Chrysta Parker of Shorterville; his brothers, Jake Evans and Dakota Evans both of Shorterville; his maternal grandparents, Ira and Sarah Skipper of Abbeville; his paternal grandfather, Ronald Evans of Haughton, LA; his aunts and uncles, Bo Barnes (Beth) of Wills Cross Roads, Marty Barnes of Shorterville, Amy & Paul Lowery of Haughton, LA, Lori Evans of Haughton, LA, and a very special aunt, Aunt Mat Mat; his nieces and nephews, Hagen Parker and J.T. Parker of Shorterville; his cousins, Hadley Barnes of Abbeville, David Barnes (Hollie) and their son Tripp, all of Wills Cross Roads; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
