Mr. Collis Anthony Smith of Samson, AL passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2016. He was 62.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva with Minister Kevin Presley and Rev. Travis Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in the Travelers Rest Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Mr. Smith was born in Florala, AL to the late Fred Glenn and Grace Brasington Smith. He was a very loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother who especially loved his grandsons. He was an avid Alabama “Roll Tide” fan and accomplished cook. Tony was a very fun loving and witty person who will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one nephew, Weston Phillip Smith; father and mother-in-law, R.L. and Wilma Preachers.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Deborah Ann Preachers Smith of Samson; two sons, Gerald Smith (Christy) of Wewahitchka, FL, and Joshua Glenn Smith (Tiffany) of Dothan; two grandsons, Levi and Ashton Smith of Wewahitchka, FL; one sister, Pattie Hatcher (Kenneth) and daughter, Brittney Hatcher Edge (Trevor) all of Dothan; one brother, Freddie Smith (Lynn) of Samson, and daughter Kylie Smith Weeks (Nick) of Kinston; special aunt, June Brasington Broxson (Larry) of Kinston; and a host of special brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family.
