Commander Robert E. Mozo
Commander Robert E. “Rusty” Mozo, (United States Navy Retired) died Thursday, December 22, 2011, following a brief illness. He was 57.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 24, 2011, at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel on West Main Street with Rev. Mark Kocsis officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Saturday prior to the service.

Commander Mozo was born December 20, 1954, in Milledgeville, GA and was a graduate of Georgia Military College. He received his BS degree from the University of South Carolina and also his master’s degree in business administration. He served 20 years as an aviator in the U.S. Navy. Following his retirement, he worked career as a Primary Helicopter Instructor Pilot at Fort Rucker.
Commander Mozo is preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Mozo, Sr.
Commander Mozo is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Mozo of Dothan; two daughters, Marianne Ferrell and her husband, R.C., of North Augusta, SC and Hillary Keagy and her husband, Josh, of Dothan; a granddaughter, Ella Claire, of North Augusta, SC; his mother, Patsy Mozo, of Tallahassee, FL; a brother, Daniel R. Mozo and his wife, Sandra, of Portsmouth, VA; two sisters, Sabra Connell and her husband, Ira, of Tallahassee, FL and Cindy Scott and her husband, Rickey of Dublin, GA.
